In many ways, the casas particulares in Cuba represent an alternative to the mostly more expensive and sometimes impersonal hotels. You can also get to know the Cuban hospitality. Eating in the casas is also recommended. Many of these privately owned houses today have the character of a boutique hotel or bed & breakfast of the upscale kind. The flair of Cuba lives in these private accommodations, but today more and more with hotel service and less with family connections.
